The baseball nerd in me is really into data-driven quantification of results. As such, there’s a few stats that I use in my posts:
APD
[Number of Pages Read in Time Frame] ÷ [Total Number of Days in Time Frame] = APD1
AWD
[Number of Words Written in Time Frame] ÷ [Total Number of Days in Time Frame] = AWD (rounded)
Ratio
[Number of Words Added to Manuscript] ÷ [Number of Words In Time Frame] = Ratio, scaled from 1-100.
wrPCT
[Number of Days Written] ÷ [Total Number of Days] = wrPCT
This is similar to winning percentage: Wins divided by Losses.
rPCT
[Number of Days Read in Time Frame] ÷ [Total Number of Days in Time Frame] = rPCT2
Calculating Journal Page Average
204 Words Per Page = [6 words per line] x [34 lines]
I use college-ruled 5-subject notebooks for all of my journaling. They pretty consistently have 34 lines. And, yeah, my handwriting is shit when my words per line is only 6.
The Still Fuckin’ Counts Award
This is an award given to days in which I write under 200 words. If I’m celebrating my longest days, I should also be celebrating the short ones too. They’re the ones that prove to the universe that I do in fact believe in myself as a writer enough to eke out a date stamp and a few sentences.
[Number of Days Pirating] ÷ [Total Number of Days] = yarrPCT
